Soli

Renaud Mascret is, among others, a singer. He is also a psychiatrist and is particularly involved with suffering adolescents or teenagers. This tenor is a performer in one of my creations, Chorus, a choreographic piece for 24 choristers. His physical commitment, his taste for playing and the power of his voice led me to invite him for this solo. Soli is an opportunity to deepen our collaboration and to pursue a research already started with Chorus on the body/voice relationship, this time in a more intimate mode.

Soli is a subjective journey through certain figures of baroque music. It is built around a solitary body that is transformed by singing, like a crossing of personal, gendered or historical figures.

He embodies in a personal way these various songs in the same embrace. It transforms itself as it goes along.

It is a moving and multiple body.
