an excuse for an encounter...

The photographic bi-portraits were born in the fall of 2003. I've then began to meet people in their professional environment, outside the choreographic and artistic field, to ask them the same question : how do they feel as performers in their own profession? In order to report on this encounter, I've decided to use photography. The principle is very simple, we exchange our outfits and we create two images taken in the same frame. The result is a double full-length portrait. On the first one, the met person poses in the context of his work and in an outfit that I submit to him or her, always the same, yellow cotton shirt, polyester pants and leather boots. On the second, in the same frame, I pose in the outfit that this person offers me, sometimes in a marked uniform representative of the profession, sometimes in civilian clothes.
